Disney is releasing the third movie in the ZOMBIES franchise this summer, and a particularly recognizable actor has joined the cast of ZOMBIES 3! The “drag icon” RuPaul is going to be part of this Disney Channel Original Movie!

The firstĀ ZOMBIES movie premiered in 2018, and was based on the book “Zombies & Cheerleaders”. Humans and zombies and the relationship between both groups were, predictably, the focus of the musical movie’s storyline.

Cheerleader Addison (played by Meg Donnelly) and zombie Zed (played by Milo Manheim) led the way in the movie, and the couple also led the way in a sequel that involved conflict with werewolves. Now, the protagonists and their friends will be facing off against aliens — and that’s where RuPaul comes in!

RuPaul (who is a model, singer, and drag queen best known for hosting the show RuPaul’s Drag Race) will apparently be voicing The Mothership that brings the alien challengers to Earth. According to Entertainment Weekly, this Mothership will be a “comedically passive-aggressive UFO”.

RuPaul has already shown off his ability to play a character that fits that description on shows like the Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin show Grace & Frankie, so we’re guessing that the celebrity drag queen will excel in a similar role once again!

ZOMBIES 3 is coming to Disney+ on July 15, but you will also want to watch the extended edition on August 12 on Disney Channel! This extended edition will include an extra original song and plenty of previously-unseen footage.

Are you excited to see the ZOMBIES cast back in action, and are you already familiar with their new co-worker (the model, singer, host, and author who has been called “the world’s most famous drag queen” by FortuneĀ magazine? Do you prefer classic Disney Channel Original Movies likeĀ High School Musical,Ā or have theĀ ZOMBIESĀ movies become some of your favorites?
