Nowadays, A-list actor John Stamos is known for his love of Disney and his affiliation with Disney via the classic ABC sitcom Full House.

However, Stamos has just revealed that he only began truly embracing his Disney side after a startling conversation with a much younger Disney celebrity: Ryan Gosling!

Ryan Gosling’s Disney History

Mickey Mouse Club star Ryan Gosling (who got his start on the show alongside other A-list celebrities like Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, and Christina Aguilera) has been the talk of the town lately due to his role in the brand-new Barbie movie opposite Margot Robbie (and opposite newly-minted Marvel star Simu Liu).

John Stamos, Ashamed of Disney?

In a recent podcast interview with another Disney darling, Keke Palmer, John Stamos revealed that — even though he is known for his love of Disney these days — he used to feel very uncomfortable about his well-publicized Disney affiliations.

Stamos admitted that he used to be eager to “shed this Disney thing.”

“Who’s gonna take me seriously with the Mickey Mouse stuff,” Stamos reminisced, declaring that his thoughts used to involve efforts to “distance [himself] from it.”

However, Ryan Gosling changed all that when he began chatting with John Stamos at a press event.

“He’s like, ‘You’re a Disney fan?’ I go, ‘Yeah,’” Stamos recounted. “He goes, ‘I’m obsessed. I’m a Disney adult. I go there by myself. I wear headphones…I go on rides, I have a mixtape.’”

“I go, ‘Yeah, me too. I’m a Disney guy too,’” Stamos finished. “So that kind of turned the corner for me.”

Disney Celebrities Unite

Keke Palmer chimed in with her own status as a Disney fan, since her name is also one that’s synonymous with Disney nowadays, and Stamos agreed with her idea that “the rest of the world goes away” when you’re a Disney Park Guest.

Other Disney Adults will be happy to hear that a Mickey Mouse Club alum convinced the Full House star to stop trying to “shed this Disney thing” and to embrace all of that Disney magic (at any age) instead!
