Happy spring break!! There are millions of kids out of school and college kids running wild all over Florida. Naturally, this means more and more crowds filling up popular vacation destinations. With religious holidays like Easter, Passover, and Eid coming up in the next few weeks, it is definitely not value season at Disney World.
With the advent of a lot of guests, this means that there are usually some changes in theme parks. Seasonal restaurants can be opened up due to demand like Tomorrowland Terrace. There can be good but of course, there can be some bad. This morning six rides were temporarily closed.
Not just ANY rides, the big hitters like Tron Lightycle / Run, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, DINOSAUR, and Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover! All in one day and all in a matter of mere hours!
Now some rides can get back up and running in as little as 30 minutes if there was a minor issue. In some other cases, rides can be down for a whole day. It can really put a damper on your day and overall trip if you only had say one day in EPCOT, and now suddenly you cannot ride two rides you were dreaming about.
We experienced with two people in front of us ready to board Rise of the Resistance that the ride had broken down. We were given a free lightning lane to use for any ride, not just Rise, although that is what most people used it for. While I was online around 11am to ride Rise, it was temporarily closed for about two hours. I was able to ride it around 4pm that day with my lightning lane and boy were those lines extra long then!
If you experience temporarily closed rides, have no fear!
