Rachel Zegler “Plays Victim” in Recent Apology, Claims She is the “Most Grateful Person Alive”

After receiving much backlash for her apparent lack of gratitude and “entitled” comments, Snow White actress Rachel Zegler released an apology…however, fans aren’t buying it.

Over the last few weeks, videos of Snow White star, Rachel Zegler, have been resurfacing on the internet and making the rounds, and the videos have deeply angered fans. In the videos that have found their home on social media, Zegler has been caught making comments that fans feel are “entitled.” In addition, Zegler spoke disparagingly about the original animated feature film from 1937, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which hasn’t sat well with the Disney community either.

Fans have now demanded that Disney cancel the movie, and the issue has escalated enough that Zegler has now released an apology.

What did the ‘Snow White’ Actress Say?

In her apology video, Rachel Zegler addresses the controversy she has found herself in, however, fans feel she has chosen to “play the victim” instead of taking accountability for her words.

In the video, Zegler asserts that this video will also be “taken out of context” the way her other comments have been. “That’s what my whole existence on the internet is, just me being taken out of context,” she says in the video. “It’s fine, that’s what I signed up for, isn’t it?”

Zegler shares that she never wanted to come as “being ungrateful” for the opportunities she has enjoyed. She explains, “When I tell you it’s hard, I just mean to be inside my brain.” Zegler also shares in the video that she wishes people would stop sending her death threats.

However, fans are no longer very sympathetic to the actress. In fact, many consider the entire apology video to be a PR stunt.

“oh her team was STRATEGIC with this one!!” someone commented on a TikTok video that Entertainment Tonight shared.

“THE SWITCH UP IS CRAZYY,” another said.

What Movies Has Rachel Zegler Been In?

Prior to landing the leading role in the classic Disney fairytale, Snow White, Zegler rose to fame for her role in Steven Spielberg’s adaptation of West Side Story as Maria. She also starred in Shazam! Fury of the Gods as Anthea and is in the upcoming film, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes as Lucy Gray Baird.

Zegler debuted with West Side Story, and the actress won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress–Motion Picture Comedy or Musical for her performance.

Will Disney Fire Rachel Zegler?

While some fans have certainly called on Disney to fire the actress, it is unlikely that the studio will do so. Now that Zegler has released an apology, with live-action Snow White being scheduled for theatrical release on March 22, 2024, Zegler is likely staying put as the iconic Disney princess.

The film stars Andrew Burnap as Jonathan (the Prince) and Ansu Kabia as the Hunstman alongside Gal Gadot (the Evil Queen) and Snow White (Rachel Zegler). It features a screenplay from Greta Gerwig and Erin Cressida Wilson, and Marc Webb directs the movie.
