An old video of Rachel Zegler, the actress cast to play Snow White, resurfaced, and fans are well and truly frustrated with what she said.
Disney’s live-action remakes have been a source of frustration for many Disney fans for a while now. From many expressing discontent with the casting of Halle Bailey as Princess Ariel and Yara Shahidi as Tinker Bell to more general dissatisfaction with Disney’s lack of new, original creative content, the criticism aimed toward the Mouse House has been going around.
Rachel Zegler Shares Changes to Snow White
Over the last few months, it’s become apparent that Disney has made many changes to the Snow White movie compared to the original released in 1937. Most recently, the film was in the news for its treatment of the Seven Dwarfs in the movie. Disney has removed the characters and replaced them with seven magical creatures; they were met with a significant amount of backlash for this decision as well.
However, recently, another video resurfaced of Latina actress Rachel Zegler sharing further updates to the movie. In the video, she explained, “She’s not going to be saved by the prince, and she’s not going to be dreaming about true love,” Zegler noted. “She’s dreaming about becoming the leader she knows she can be and the leader that her late father told her that she could be if she was fearless, fair, brave, and true.”

Fans Slam Disney for Changes to Snow White
However, this time around, fans are seemingly more fed up with Disney’s constant changes to the live-action movies and have taken to social media to express the same.
One TikTok user, JustAnotherJake, posted a video calling Disney out, in which he asked,
Then what the f— is the movie? Disney: if you’re going to call someting the live-action version of ‘Snow White’ but you take out every single plot point of the original story, you don’t even have dwarf actors playing the seven dwarfs, what f—n movie is this?

Many fans in the comments agreed, sharing examples of previous live actions with some character changes, but the plot and themes were the same as the originals.
Another Disney fan shared the example of Maleficent, “Maleficent was a great example of making a live action, telling a story of a villian/side character, and putting a twist on a known story/character.”
While Disney is set on these changes to Snow White, it appears the Walt Disney Company is losing favor with many of its fans.
