Snow White Star Would “Love” to Revisit ‘Once Upon a Time’s’ Magical World

Long after its final curtain call, Once Upon a Time still casts a powerful spell over fans who fell in love with its imaginative blend of fairy tales and real-world drama. The series, which premiered on ABC in 2011, brought characters like Snow White, Prince Charming, and the Evil Queen out of enchanted forests and into the streets of a small town in Maine, crafting a storyline that resonated with families and fantasy lovers alike.

For seven seasons, it offered viewers a weekly escape—filled with magic, conflict, romance, and redemption.

Though the series wrapped up in 2018, the love for its characters and mythology has remained. With Disney continuing to mine its archive of intellectual property for new streaming content, fans have long speculated that Once Upon a Time could be among the next titles to make a comeback.

That speculation gained momentum recently when one of the show’s stars shared her thoughts—and her interest in returning.

Once Upon a Time was the brainchild of Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, who were best known for their work on the hit series Lost. The show built its identity around Disney’s rich cast of fairy tale characters, exploring what would happen if they were cursed to forget who they were and live ordinary lives in the modern world.

For many, this twist on beloved stories was an instant hook, especially as the cast featured familiar names and fresh takes on timeless roles.

One of those stars, Ginnifer Goodwin, portrayed Snow White (Mary Margaret Blanchard) and quickly became the emotional core of the ensemble. She also found something unexpected during her time on the show: love. Goodwin and co-star Josh Dallas, who played Prince Charming, met on set and eventually married, turning their on-screen fairytale into a real-life romance.

In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Goodwin addressed the possibility of a reboot and left no doubt about where she stands:

“I hear these rumors as well [about a reboot], and I am available if they [want to do that],” Goodwin said. “I mean, I live around the corner from the creator, so I’m sure I’ll hear things.”

“I’d love to go back. My whole life is kind of built around it. I mean, I married Prince Charming. His babies are my babies,” she added, referring to husband Josh Dallas, whom she met on the OUAT set and now shares two children with.

Fans immediately latched onto her comments as a hopeful sign that a revival might be more than just wishful thinking. Goodwin’s ongoing relationship with Disney adds to the possibility.

Since Once Upon a Time, she has remained active in the Disney family, voicing Judy Hopps in the animated hit Zootopia (2016) and returning for the Disney+ series Zootopia+. She also lent her voice to the studio’s centennial short, Once Upon a Studio (2023), and will reprise her role in the upcoming Zootopia 2, due in theaters November 26, 2025.

Goodwin isn’t alone in her interest. Other cast members have previously hinted at being open to revisiting their characters. Colin O’Donoghue (Captain Hook) has said the world of OUAT is built for reimagining, while Jennifer Morrison (Emma Swan) suggested she would consider returning to direct episodes, even if the reboot focuses on new characters.

While Once Upon a Time in Wonderland—a spinoff launched in 2013—didn’t achieve lasting success, the original series has only grown more beloved in the years since it ended. The show’s emphasis on legacy, family, and reinterpreting stories makes it especially well-suited for a new era of storytelling on platforms like Disney+.
