An unfortunate mid-ride break on a fan favorite attraction sent sparks literally flying.
Disneyland Guests were loaded and set to embark on the Indiana Jones Adventure when something broke on their ride vehicle, sending sparks flying in front of them. Now, the ride vehicles for Disneyland’s Indiana Jones Adventure that take Guests through the Temple of the Forbidden Eye do, in fact, bring one face to face with a lot of special effects. But, this was something different that stopped the car dead in its path.

It appears to have happened near the start of the ride, and replies to this tweet suggest that the Adventureland attraction was shut down for a brief time while Cast Members sorted out whatever problem caused this ride vehicle to shut down.
While ride breakdowns are nothing new for Disney Fanatics, it appears that attractions still seem to find new ways to disrupt the usual Guest experience. Just a few days ago, for instance, Disneyland Guests caught the Kylo Ren animatronic spinning out of control during Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. The Disneyland Resort describes the Indiana Jones Adventure on its website as the following:
An Ancient Legend
Follow Indy’s footsteps into the crumbling Temple of the Forbidden Eye past intricate booby traps. Inspect carvings and frescos that tell the story of Mara, a powerful deity who promises great treasures—and vengeance to those foolish enough to gaze into its all-seeing eyes.
Brave Unimaginable Perils
Board a rugged troop transport and enter the Chamber of Destiny. Confront inconceivable dangers, like precarious precipices over molten lava, screaming mummies, swarms of giant insects, spear-throwing wraiths, collapsing bridges, slithering snakes—and a massive rolling boulder. If you find yourself in jeopardy, only one man is brave enough—or crazy enough—to save you… Dr. Jones!
