On July 6, Guests Walked Into a Completely Different Adventureland at Magic Kingdom

Overnight construction activity has added a new visual element to Adventureland at Magic Kingdom Park. Let's take a look at the latest refurbishment update from the Most Magical Place on Earth.

WDWNT reported on July 6 that construction scrim had appeared alongside the Swiss Family Treehouse in Adventureland, seemingly overnight. The fabric facing guests approaching from the Adventureland side features a tree print that blends naturally into the dense surrounding greenery. The opposite side of the scrim, more visible to guests making their way through the Swiss Family Treehouse attraction, is a solid green.

The scrim appears to be suspended from some form of scaffolding, though what exactly is being worked on in the area behind it hasn't been revealed. Walt Disney World Resort has made no public statement about the project, which is standard for maintenance work that doesn't meaningfully disrupt the guest experience.

Despite the construction activity nearby, the Swiss Family Treehouse remains fully open. The scaffolding and scrim aren't blocking any interactive or decorative elements of the six-story walkthrough experience, and guests can still take in the 360-degree views of Magic Kingdom Park from the attraction's upper levels. No upcoming closures for the Swiss Family Treehouse are listed on the official Walt Disney World Resort website.

The Swiss Family Treehouse — an opening-day Magic Kingdom Park experience inspired by Swiss Family Robinson (1960) — closed for maintenance in late 2024 and reopened in early 2025, with the long-broken waterwheel effect finally restored as part of the work. Whatever is being addressed in the surrounding jungle area appears to be a separate project from the prior refurbishment.
