Three Disney Parks Attractions That Deserve a Christmas Retheme

Disney Rides Holiday Themes

It’s that time of year again! Along with the usual Christmas decorations strung out across Cinderella Castle, Main street USA, World Showcase, and everywhere else around the Disneyland Resort and Disney World Resort Theme Parks, like Candlelight Processional, the Disney Resort gingerbread house displays, the Christmas Tree Stroll at Disney Springs, are also treated to a few special holiday overlays of their favorite attractions. Most famously, this includes Haunted Mansion Holiday and “it’s a small world” Holiday at Disneyland Park in California and the Jingle Cruise at Magic Kingdom Park in Florida. And now we have a special holiday overlay of Space Mountain and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Holiday Remix at EPCOT.

But it is my opinion that there are a few other attractions that could use some Christmas charm. Here are my top three:

Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room

These musical birds deliver a beautiful melody to Guests every day, but I think it only makes sense for them to switch up their setlist for some Christmas Carols during this time of year. Songs that come to mind include Feliz Navidad, Mele Kalikimaka, and Christmas Island.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway

Mickey and Minnie Mouse have already known to have some unforgettable Christmastime adventures, so let’s join them for one! Through a makeover that combines the work done for Haunted Mansion Holiday and the Guardians of the Galaxy Halloween overlay at Disney California Adventure, I can see Walt Disney Imagineers giving Guests some new holiday hijinx in the Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse.

Pandora: The World of Avatar

Here on Earth, we celebrate Christmas this time of year. In the Star Wars Universe, they have Life Day. But what about in the World of Avatar? Whether it is a traditional time of celebration honored by the Navi’i or if it is some version of Christmas that is left over due to humanity’s colonization of Pandora, James Cameron and the Walt Disney Imagineers have the perfect opportunity to expand the Avatar canon in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park for the Holiday Season.

The current holiday celebrations, which include Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party with Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Firework Display and EPCOT’s International Festival of the Holidays, are in full swing right now at The Walt Disney World Resort.

We at Disney Fanatic will continue to update our readers on Disney Parks news and stories as more developments come to light.
