Walt Disney World Resort is one of the most popular vacation destinations in the world. Every day, tens of thousands of people head to Florida to visit The Most Magical Place on Earth — even fugitives. Unfortunately, for one fugitive, he isn’t the only one who likes to go to Disney World. Another person who likes vacationing with Mickey Mouse was the postal inspector who signed the fugitive’s arrest warrant.

And how did the Federal inspector know it was Burton? The cursive H tattoo that Burton had tattooed on his neck.

That is some bad luck right there.

In November 2022, Quashon Burton was arrested at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park while he was vacationing with his young daughter. According to authorities, Burton had been on the run for more than a year. He is accused of stealing the identities of four people in order to steal more than $150,000. The money was meant to aid small businesses during the pandemic.

Now, one year later, we have a video of the arrest, which happened while Burton was about to board a Disney bus and leave the park. Burton was approached by Orange County Sheriff’s Officers. The officers ask to talk to Burton, who says that he hasn’t done anything wrong. After a bit of back and forth, Burton is cuffed. His daughter can be heard crying off-camera.

When Burton is put in the police car, he is repeatedly asked for his name. He refuses to tell the officers. He tells them that he has a name, but he won’t tell them what it is. Officers tell him that things can be cleared up quickly if he tells them his name. He remains silent.

In the final video, police close the door on Burton and prepare to take him to jail. The officers talk and confirm that Burton’s identity has been verified by the person who originally alerted them to his presence. That person was the Federal Postal Inspector who originally signed Burton’s arrest warrant.

One officer informs the other two that Burton was staying on Disney property, but he was not staying under his name. He had allegedly used a fake ID to book the vacation.

Burton was charged with resisting arrest in Florida. He was then extradited back to New York, where he faced charges of plotting to steal government funds; stealing public money, property, or records; and aggravated identity theft. He was detained without bound.

On September 21, Burton was sentenced after agreeing to a plea deal. He reportedly pled guilty to conspiracy and the other charges against him were dropped. He was sentenced to 36 months in prison and must repay the $150,000 he stole. When he is released, he will be under strict supervision for a set amount of time.
