A Big $500,000 Donation to Local Education Programs

The $500,000 donation will benefit various organizations focused on youth development and education throughout Florida. The donation will benefit The Foundation for Orange County Public Schools, The School District of Osceola County, Lake County Schools Foundation, Polk County Schools Foundation, and Seminole County Schools Foundation. Additionally, the donation will support four key youth organizations: Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, Orlando Philharmonic, ELEVATE Orlando, and A Gift for Teaching.

In addition to the monetary contribution, Disney brought some extra magic to local educators with a surprise appearance by Lilo & Stitch’s Stitch character. Stitch made a special appearance at Hamilton Elementary, Deerwood Elementary, College Park Middle, Tavares Middle, and North Lakeland Elementary schools. The lovable alien character’s visit added an element of surprise and joy to the teachers’ celebrations as the school year came to a close.

Teachers Receive Free Disney Park Tickets

Along with their surprise guest, the teachers at each school received free Walt Disney World park tickets, giving them a well-deserved chance to enjoy the resort’s magical offerings. This gesture is part of Disney’s broader initiative to show appreciation for the hard work and dedication of local educators.

To further support the teachers, Disney Imagination Campus invited them for an exclusive day at EPCOT. Teachers and administrators from each school district had the chance to take inspiration from the living laboratory at EPCOT and bring it back to their classrooms. This experience gave educators the opportunity to explore the park’s innovative exhibits and discover fresh ideas to enhance their teaching methods.
