On June 29, the Disney Wish was officially christened into the Disney Cruise Line fleet, and members of the press were invited on board to get a first glimpse of what the first Triton-Class ship had to offer. That tour included a look-in on the new staterooms, pool deck, and a $5,000 cocktail?

Yes, among the magical amenities exclusive to this new cruise ship, the adult-focused Star Wars Hyperspace Lounge features a drink known as the Kaiburr Crystal. Named after the Kyber Chrystals, the priceless gem that is at the heart of every lightsaber, this drink costs $5,000.

Theme Park Journalist Ashley Carter got to experience this drink and shared a video of its presentation on Twitter, saying:

“The most expensive drink in the galaxy. The Star Wars Hyperspace Lounge on the Disney Wish has a $5,000 Kaiburr Crystal drink.”

Presented in a special lockbox, it is unclear at this time what exactly is in the cocktail to make it so expensive.

It should be noted that this pricey drink is nothing new regarding fine Disney dining experiences. Every high-end sit-down restaurant at the Walt Disney World Resort, for example, features high-end wine and liquor offerings that exceed even this out-of-this-world price. However, most of those options will be displayed behind a bar rather than listed on any menu. Personally, this reporter would not be surprised to find some wines, whiskeys, or cognacs at Palo Steakhouse or Remy’s that beat this price point.

That being said, the introduction of another high-end Star Wars experience comes just after the tide of criticism over the cost of Disney World’s multi-day experience, Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, appeared to subside and adds fuel to the fire among fans if the level of immersion Disney is attempting to go puts the price point beyond their target audience.

The Disney Wish will set sail on its maiden voyage on July 14. We at Disney Fanatic will continue to update our readers on Disney Cruise Line news and stories as more developments come to light.
