New Taylor Swift Event Coming to Disney+!

One of the biggest pop stars on the planet right now is Taylor Swift. The 33-year-old is currently touring the world on her sold-out Eras Tour, which she keeps adding dates to. Swift has already broken box-office records for her ticket sales, and now, the documentary of her tour has hit theaters and is wildly successful. The movie alone has made more than $200 million globally.

It seems that everything Swift touches turns to gold. So, does that mean she could be the extra bump that Disney is looking for?

The Walt Disney Company — which owns ABC — has announced that, on November 21, the hit show Dancing with the Stars will honor the pop icon. The dance-filled night will be called A Celebration of Taylor Swift.

It’s been a long time coming…join us for A Celebration of Taylor Swift, live November 21 on @ABCNetwork and @DisneyPlus! Stream on @Hulu. #DWTSxTaylorSwift @taylorswift13

Here is more on the special occasion from TVInsider:

The six remaining couples that week will make the ballroom shimmer with a night full of performances to the tunes of the multi-Grammy award-winning recording artist.

Furthermore, longstanding DWTS choreographer and the lead choreographer of the Taylor Swift The Eras Tour Mandy Moore will be a special guest judge, joining the panel of Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Derek Hough. Couples, along with their dance styles and songs, will be announced at a later date.

Since Disney owns ABC, Hulu, and Disney+ — its very own streaming service — Dancing with the Stars will air live on ABC at 8 p.m. Eastern Time. It will also be streamed live on Disney+. It will be available to stream on Hulu the next day.

This is not the first time that Swift has been featured on Disney+ and ABC. Swift also recorded folklore: the long pond studio sessions, which is currently available to stream on Disney+.

There are also rumors that Swift's Eras Tour which is currently in theaters will make its way to Disney+. One TikToker pointed out that Good Morning America was the first to announce that the Eras Tour movie was happening. Good Morning America airs on ABC, which we stated is owned by The Walt Disney Company.

The TikToker also pointed out that Swift “owed Disney a project or two.” That could mean that Disney has made a deal with Swift to have several documentaries about her on Disney+, but right now they only have one.

At this time, nothing has been confirmed. We do not know when the Eras Tour film will leave theaters. We also do not know when it will be released on a streamer or which streaming service will get the rights to the film. Some think that Disney may obtain the rights, while others pointed out that Swift has worked with Amazon in the past, so the movie may appear on Prime Video.

This season of Dancing With the Stars has already had “Latin Night”, “Monster Night”, and “Disney100 Night” — which honored the 100th anniversary of The Walt Disney Company. In addition to “A Celebration of Taylor Swift”, there will also be a “Whitney Houston Night”, which will air on November 14.

Disney Fanatic will keep readers updated as we learn more.
