Yet again, Disney Fanatic is back with a fact check. Rumors have been flying that a Taylor Swift Eras Tour-themed ride is coming to Walt Disney World, here’s the truth.

Over the years, there have been many strange rumors about the Disney theme parks. Last year, people thought Cinderella Castle was going to be removed; in January of this year, folks worried Disney World was permanently closing Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Some even believed that Disney would be removing seatbelts in the Tower of Terror due to a TikTok trend.

However, most recently, some have been wondering if a Taylor Swift Eras ride, inspired by her tour, is coming to Disney World, specifically to Disney’s Hollywood Studios Theme Park.

Would Disney Ever Make a Taylor Swift-Themed Ride?

The question might seem far-fetched to some, but it’s not beyond the realm of possibility. Disney is historically known for making choices for the parks that keep the environment immersive, and music (and musicians) are one great way to do that.

Think about Rock’ n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith or even the showing of Captain EO starring Michael Jackson at EPCOT from 1986 until 1988. Disney has set the precedent to work with musicians to create new rides and experiences for fans, and considering this past, it’s entirely possible that they might do so again, especially when the musician in question has the star power that she does.

Taylor Swift has been praised for rescuing the economy, and her tour has broken records; the popstar is on top of the world, and it’s unsurprising that she is the center of this rumor.

However, we’re sorry, Swifties, this Taylor Swift Eras ride is unlikely to happen. Here’s why.

Where Did the Rumor Originate?

The rumor of this Taylor Swift Eras ride began with the satirical news site, Mouse Trap News. The website, known for its humorous stories about the Disney Parks, and Disney movies, published an article and made a video about this “news,” which garnered a fair amount of attention online.

The video alone got over 168K views on Instagram, let alone TikTok, and had many fans upset at the fact that the news was, for all intents and purposes, fake.

One commented, “I HOPE THIS IS TRUE ALTHOUGH IT MIGHT NOT BE.”

Another poked fun at Disney, “Disney couldn’t afford her 💅😂.”

A third brought up an interesting point, “Me like why would they bring Taylor like she hasn’t make movies for them.”

However, there is a connection Taylor Swift has to Disney that not many may be aware of: Taylor Swift has reportedly signed her directorial debut with Disney, with production house Searchlight Pictures.

Given all of these connections between Taylor Swift and Disney, this writer and Swiftie lives in hope that perhaps one day in the not-too-distant future, this ride will become a reality, however, for now, it’s simply a dream.

Meanwhile, Swift is currently celebrating the release of her Eras Tour concert film, which was released in theaters recently. The opening weekend saw many A-list celebrities attend the screening of one of her shows at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
