When it comes to decorum and etiquette for Disney Resorts, one would think it’s straightforward. Be kind, courteous, andĀ considerate of your fellow Guests and Cast Members. However, despite this seemingly evident code of conduct, some Guests have had trouble adhering to it, so much so that Disney has even had to release official warnings about the consequences if Guests don’t behave in accordance with the standards set. Despite that, we hear of untoward happenings at the Parks even now.

But the truth is, this kind of behavior transcends the physicality of the Disney Parks. Some Guests can also take their unkind words and actions online, which is what happened recently.
One Disney fan page shared a photo of Moana, who recently made a visit to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Disney meets ‘n’ greets are some of the best parts of a Disney Park visit. Interacting with your heroes and favorites is one of the biggest draws of going to the Walt Disney World Resort. However, the fan was shocked at the number of rude and unkind comments the Cast Member received about her weight and looks.
It reportedly got so bad that the fan took down his original post and reposted the photo, sharing, “There were too many people who commented on the other one who forgot how to be decent adults. I already banned some of them.”
The Disney brand has always been about inclusivity, diversity, and letting anyoneĀ be a part of and feel the Disney magic. This is certainly not behavior becoming of those who consider themselves to be fans of Disney Parks or even Walt Disney himself.
In the repost, many fans did speak out for the fan. One CJ Ayd shared, “Whatās wild is the adults who forget itāsā¦ NOT FOR THEM . I see a smiling kid. As a father, that is all I care about. Moana, great job. You look great and fulfilled the most important role, making a childās DAY.”
The parent of the child in the photo even commented, sharing how excited her daughter had been to meet Moana.
Whether at the Parks or outside of them, it’s always important to remember to treat Cast Members with dignity and respect; they are the heart of the Disney experience, after all.
This isn’t the only way Moana has made her way to Walt Disney World. As Disney Fanatics know, she is also making her presence known with “Journey of Water” coming to EPCOT this year. The attraction features a life-size Te Fiti statueĀ and is a place “where water comes to life.”
Per the website, Guests can
Stroll along a self-guided outdoor trail where you can play and interact with water as it travels from the sky to the oceans and back again.Ā
The attraction is inspired by the fan-favorite animated movie MoanaĀ which featured Aulii Cravalho as Moana, and Dwayne Johnson as the demi-god Maui among a star-studded cast with music from Lin-Manuel Miranda.
