Disney Gives Fans More Clarity on ‘Moana’-themed Journey of Water’s Opening Timeline

Moana fans can rest assured that they’ll have the chance to enjoy Journey of Water this year, with Disney revealing more details on when the Disney World attraction will be open to the Disney community.

Disney fans have truly been taken on a journey when it comes to the opening of Journey of Water, set to open in EPCOT later this year. The Moana-themed ride has been revealed bit by bit to fans, including the unveiling of what the Te Fiti statue that arrived in EPCOT in early December was going to look like at the D23 Expo last year.

Now, in an email to Disney Rewards members, Disney has given fans more clarity about when the long-awaited attraction will finally open for Guests to enjoy.

Per the email,

Journey where water comes to life!

What: This fall, you won’t want to miss the debut of Journey of Water, inspired by Moana at EPCOT! This new exploration trail will connect Guests to the story fo our planet’s water.

When: Fall 2023

And that’s the latest! Come Fall 2023, Guests will be able to take in the sights and sounds of the Journey of Water while learning more about the water cycle and being watched over by the goddess Te Fiti. While Disney has faced some hiccups around this particular attraction and a… “suggestive” image, we’re certain all Disney Fanatics will be as excited as we are for the opening of this wonderful experience at the Disney Park.

Located in World Nature in EPCOT, according to the Disney World website, Guests can “explore the wonders of water along an interactive trail that’s fun for all ages—based on the Disney animated film Moana.”
