While Disney vacations are truly magical experiences, they can also be very stressful. Disney parks are not really places where you can fly by the seat of your pants, especially if you have certain must-dos. Add to that the use of things like Disney Genie+ and Lightning Lane, and there are even more reasons to plan your days in the parks.
Many guests have even argued that Disney has become too complicated and requires too much planning, adding even more stress to an already stressful and expensive planning experience.

The stress of a Disney trip can lead to some short tempers and arguments. But, now, I pose a question to you.
If you got into a fight with your significant other, would you abandon them at the park? How about a Disney park in a foreign country that you had never been to?
That’s the question that one man posed to the popular Reddit forum Am I The A**hole, and his fellow Redditors are blown away by the fact that he even had to ask.

In the since-deleted — but now viral post — the man says that he and his wife were waiting in line at the Tokyo Disney Resort.
While in line, his wife decided to pass the time by asking him to tell a joke. He said that she was then upset at the joke, telling him that he hurt her feelings, and he shouldn’t joke about things like that.
He said that it made him angry that she couldn’t “just let it go,” and he stopped talking to her. Then, she suggested they separate for a few minutes to cool down.

Sadly, things didn’t get better. When they met up again a few minutes later, they got into a huge fight because the wife said that she was sad and hurt.
Her husband said she was “pushing it” and ended up going back to the hotel. He said that his wife called him crying, asking if he was actually going to leave her at the park. He was annoyed at her and hung up, leaving her there.

When his wife finally made it back to the hotel — three hours later — she was very upset. She said that her phone died, so she had no way to call for help.
The hotel was also an hour away from the parks, so she had to ask for help in finding her way back. On top of that, her husband had both hotel room keys, so she had to get additional help to even get back into her room.

The couple returned from their vacation and their relationship is still frosty. The man was convinced that he hadn’t done anything wrong and asked impartial strangers if he was the jerk.
As said above, Redditors were blown away at his audacity and his behavior.
One of the biggest red flags was that the man conveniently left out what his “joke” was. That led many to believe that it was something incredibly offensive, and he didn’t want to admit it.
She was hurt and his reaction was anger and frustration.
Op said something cruel and didn’t want to deal with the consequences.
Op – YTA and you know it.
You were angry because someone was hurt by your behavior, and instead of YOU dealing with the hurt that YOU caused, you freaked out, threw a tantrum like a baby, and left your wife an hour away from the hotel with no way to get back.
You are emotionally immature. You are unfeeling and mean. You are selfish – throughout this entire story you prioritized your own fragile ego over everything, including your wife’s safety.
Others were disturbed by the fact that he was not concerned that his wife was left alone in a foreign city, with a dead cell phone, and no idea how to get back to her hotel.
yeah notice how he never says anything nice about his wife? Not even the tiniest bit of concern when it took her 3 hours to get back to the hotel, and he never tried to contact her or showed any concern. The fact that she was lucky to get back to the hotel at all, and he just doesnt seem at all concerned for her safety, at all.

Redditors were almost unanimous in their agreement that his wife should leave him, that he didn’t deserve to have a wife, and that he was a terrible human being.
That’s the biggest thing, for me. He was punishing her for not just accepting his cruel treatment with a smile. That’s abusive behavior. That’s saying “this is what you get if you defy me.” I truly, sincerely hope she leaves him immediately. This would be a relationship-ender for me.
In the end, the moderators of Am I The A**hole had to remove the post because so many Redditors were violating the community standards of remaining civil. Commenters were disgusted by the Original Poster, and they let him know.
