Walt Disney World Resort is known as The Most Magical Place on Earth. But that’s not always the case. The magical Disney bubble, unfortunately, is not shielded from the rest of the world.

According to details recently released by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened on July 3 last year.

The woman had just ended her shift and was heading to her car in the EPCOT parking lot. But on her way, a man from a nearby vehicle reached out from the driver’s side window and attempted to pull her in.

The report states that he grabbed her from around the waist and began to pull her into the vehicle. Fortunately for the Disney cast member, she put up a fight.

She told detectives that she screamed and elbowed the man multiple times until he let go. She described him as bald and in his 40s or 50s.

“Come to me, Princess”

She said the man said to her, “It’s OK. Just come to me, princess.” But the individual drove away as the cast member ran to her car.

The report said she contacted law enforcement and described the man’s vehicle as a dark-colored sedan. She was, however, unable to notice his license plate.

Security footage at Walt Disney World Resort shows the sedan speeding through the lot around 9 p.m. but did not capture the actual attempted kidnapping.

The EPCOT cast member parking lot is located behind the Test Track and not part of the general guest parking lot.

Although the cast member got away and was not attacked further, the story provides an excellent reminder to be careful…even when on vacation at the Most Magical Place on Earth.

About Steven

Steven has a complicated relationship with Disney. As a child, he visited Walt Disney World every few years with his family. But he never understood why kids his age (and older) were so scared of Snow White or Alien Encounter. He is a former participant of the Disney College Program (left early…long story), and he also previously worked in Children’s publishing, where he adapted multiple Disney movies and TV shows. He has many controversial opinions about Disney…like having a positive view of Michael Eisner, believing Return of the Jedi is superior to The Empire Strikes Back, and that Toy Story Land and Galaxy’s Edge should have never been built (at least not at Hollywood Studios). Every year for the past two decades, Steven has visited either Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Aulani or went on a Disney Cruise. He’s happy to share any and all knowledge of the Disney destinations (and he likes using parenthesis a lot…as well as ellipses…)
