While this Disney Park has been hard at work promoting a new Pixar musical and an upcoming Frozen-themed land, its Cast Members have been working even harder to fight for their rights.
In an unprecedented move, Disney Cast Members stormed Main Street, U.S.A., during peak morning hours at Disneyland Paris. Several of the Park’s famous performances, like “Dream… And Shine Brighter” and “Stars on Parade,” were canceled. Guests looked at a portion of Main Street typically marked by happily waving Cast Members and were dumbfounded to see them picketing and chanting instead.
The photos of the Cast Member strike were a shocking contrast to the pristine Park Disney tirelessly works to maintain. But this call has been left unanswered for weeks—or longer—for these Cast Members.
Emboldened by workers’ unions in France, the Cast Members have been protesting for higher pay and better working conditions. Their previous strikes were short-lived but had enough momentum to cancel several parades and performances at Disneyland Paris. Their efforts run alongside a countrywide strike in France to oppose the increased retirement age from 62 to 64.
With the shocking sights from last week’s workers’ strike garnering worldwide attention, whether or not Disney would meet the Cast Members’ demands remained to be seen. In a post on Twitter by @DLPReport signaling another epic strike, it appears the answer is no:
Disneyland Paris Cast Member Unions have warned of another day of strike actions tomorrow, Tuesday May 30. Park operations are likely to be disrupted, and entertainment canceled. If you have the flexibility to reschedule your visit, we would advise to do so.

The last time workers’ unions issued a warning, the Cast Members carried out the strike. With plans to protest again on Tuesday, May 30, DLP Report urges Guests with Park plans to reconsider their itineraries.
Guests were evacuated from sections of the Park during last week’s strike, causing mayhem and disrupting Disney Park operations. If history has taught us anything, the Disney Cast Members are determined to have their voices heard, and they’ll prioritize their plight over the Park’s regularly-scheduled programming.
The ball has been in Disney’s court to meet the Cast Members’ needs, and it appears these protests will persist until changes are made.
This is a developing story, and Disney Fanatic will provide updates as they come.
