We have seen many celebrities (Disney-affiliated or otherwise) visiting Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort in recent months — including an Emily in Paris star, the supermodel Gisele, a Christmas crooner, and a Disney princess from the Desperate Housewives television show — but when one celebrity recently visited Walt Disney World Resort and participated in the Candlelight Processional as a Narrator, the visit led to an unexpected criticism of Disney overall.
Iconic singer and Las Vegas performer Marie Osmond (whose brother, Donny Osmond, will be recognized by Disney fans as the voice of Li Shang in the Mulan films and the singer of “I’ll Make A Man Out Of You”) recently came to Disney World to be a Candlelight Processional Narrator after Neil Patrick Harris took his turn (and after the How I Met Your Mother actor insulted former Disney CEO Bob Chapek in the process).
“After we finished the #CandlightCelebration at Epcot, I’ve been blessed to spend the week with my family here at Walt Disney World!” the singer and former Donny & Marie star wrote on Instagram in the post shown below (which also features her husband Steve Craig as they visit a Disney Park together). “I hope you have all had a relaxing and wonderful week.”

Many former Disney fans did not seem relaxed despite Marie Osmond’s good wishes, however. “Glad you had a good time,” one person wrote. “I just can’t do anything to support Disney anymore.”
“Beautiful photo of you and Steve. Nice you guys had a wonderful time! Unfortunately I don’t support Disney anymore,” another person wrote. “Walt Disney is rolling over in his grave in disbelief of what he created, his dream had now become.”
“Can’t support or afford Disney anymore and I hate that. My fiancé has never been and I’d love to take him but we can’t come close to affording what they charge anymore,” another former Disney Guest wrote in response to the rare photo of Marie Osmond and her husband Steve Craig.
“There are pros and cons about everyplace. Marie had no control over what Disney parks do!” another person wrote, asking other people to stop making the comments section an anti-Disney place that was not particularly related to Marie Osmond’s visit. “Leave her alone! She is just enjoying the Holidays with her family.”
“I won’t support Disney anymore,” another person said. Many Disney fans seem to echo these sentiments, but seeing them placed on a cheerful and seemingly-general Disney post is a testament to just how jaded and unhappy Disney customers seem to be.
Have you stopped supporting Disney and stopped visiting Disney Parks, too?
