When it comes to Disney magic, there are a wide variety of magical incidents or moments that have come out of the Disney Fanatic community. Sometimes, Disney magic appears in a brief but life-saving interaction between Disney character performers and Disney theme park visitors.
Sometimes, the magic moments are happy storiesĀ (or extremely tragic stories) about Disney fans located far away from Disney properties like Walt Disney World Resort.
Today, we’re sharing a positive story about a little boy who has just “defied the odds” and overcome some significant health challenges to enjoy a Disney World vacation!
Odds, Defied
According to news station KMBC, “since he was two weeks old, Camden Newson faced daunting health challenges, with uncertainties about his ability to talk, walk, or even eat.”
“We didn’t know if he would be able to talk or walk or if he would be able to eat,” Camden’s mother Laura explained in an interview, revealing that her son was diagnosed with Stage 3 Chronic Kidney Disease.
Camden did indeed defy all odds, however; the now-seven-year-old has done everything “from performing on stage to swimming and even riding his own horse, Stella.”
Camden has now crossed another achievement off his life list: enjoying a trip to Walt Disney World Resort, with “the doctors in the rearview mirror”!
Another Dream Achieved
The Dream Factory (which is “the largest all-volunteer driven childrenās wish-granting organization that does not limit its mission to children who have life-threatening illness”) has allowed Camden and his family to enjoy a magical Disney trip just like any other family.
Camden was able to meet Mickey Mouse and say hello to Disney princesses like Princess Jasmine and Cinderella while enjoying Disney theme parks like the Magic Kingdom!
According to KMBC, “the Dream Factory made sure this future star was treated like one.”
“It was a big blessing,” Laura said tearfully in the interview.
Disney Magic Is Alive and Well
The Dream Factory might be compared to the Make a Wish Foundation, but emphasizes that “the organization believes children with chronic illnesses and disorders also suffer from substantial emotional and physical pain.”
Seeing such a rewarding experience happen for families or individuals who have worked hard to overcome obstacles like health issues, and who definitely deserve a break, certainly qualifies as Disney magic in our book!
