Cinderella Gets A New Comic

Cassey Ho, the fitness instructor and athleisure fashion designer who also goes by Blogilates, has become known for her Disney-themed workouts and her often-Disney-inspired comics (which are called Blogicomics). So far, the comic has featured Disney villains, Disney princesses, and even Marvel’s Avengers. This weekend, Blogilates chose to advertise her brand Popflex Active‘s Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales by featuring the brand’s popular Disney-princess-style hoodie in the comic, with Cinderella as a prospective customer!

In the comic, Cinderella’s wicked stepmother and ugly stepsisters head out for traditional Black Friday shopping, facing long lines and stressful confrontations with competing customers, while Cinderella basks in the solitude at home.

After Cinderella exercises by following along with a workout video (one of Blogilates’, predictably), she remembers to buy the Cloud Hoodie from Popflex Active online. Her transaction is done within five minutes, just in time to see her frazzled stepmother and stepsisters return home!

Blogicomics’ caption for the comic says the following: “The Evil Stepmother and sisters tried to leave Cindy out of the festivities per usual. But the joke’s on them! While they were out Black Friday shopping all day with no plan, Cinderella got to catch up on her shows, work out, have brunch with her fairy godmother, make a charcuterie board for her mice… AND got her shopping done!” The caption ended by encouraging customers to “shop just like Cindy from the comfort of your own home!”.

While Blogilates’ workouts and Popflex Active collections have all been consistent crowd-pleasers, her Disney comics seem particularly popular–perhaps because they take traditional Disney characters and place them in more modern, relatable settings.
