This fall, something absolutely sinister is going down in the dark alleyways of Universal Orlando Resort’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The popular theme park destination announced today that a completely new and immersive experience is coming to Diagon Alley on select dates from September 1 through November 4.

In what feels like a cue taken from the presence of Stormtroopers at Disney World’s Galaxy’s Edge in Hollywood Studios, Universal will fill the streets of Diagon Alley with Death Eaters. The villainous and fanatical dark witches and wizards are extremely well-known to the Harry Potter series fans. Their presence in Diagon Alley will surely delight visitors looking for scary fun this Halloween season.

Death Eaters are devoted followers of Harry Potter’s nemesis, Lord Voldemort. They revel in the Dark Arts, wearing masks to keep their identity secret. Scott Gustin shared the announcement on Twitter/X:

NEW: Death Eaters will appear for the first time ever in Diagon Alley at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort select dates September 1 through November 4.

Furthermore, Universal Orlando provided more information on the Death Eaters coming to Diagon Alley. The theme park stresses that this live entertainment offering will allow guests of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter to interact with the dark witches and wizards.

This interactive live entertainment experience puts guests face-to-face with these fanatic witches and wizards as they roam through London, lurk their way through the cobbled streets of Knockturn Alley, and challenge guests to join the Dark Lord.

Halloween Horror Nights and Harry Potter

The addition of these dark wizards is only new to Diagon Alley. Orlando has seen them in its limited-time event Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle in the Hogsmeade section of the destination. Universal Studios Hollywood has also already featured them in the streets of its park.

Death Eaters at Universal Orlando also comes with the return of the Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle offering on select nights. This experience sees the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey Hogwarts Castle light up with special effects, simulating attacks from all manner of Voldemort villains. Sinister things also happen throughout the streets of the village.

Various Death Eater-themed merchandise will also be for sale in Diagon Alley. Unique dining options at the Leaky Cauldron and a special wand from Ollivanders are just a few of the experiences one can have while avoiding or embracing the Dark Arts.

Halloween Horror Nights looks to be a fantastic source of scares this fall. Universal announced earlier this year that The Last of Us will be featured with its own house. Death Eaters at Universal Orlando just add to the fun.
