Is Disney World Removing Stitch From The Parks?

If you’re a fan of the blue alien and Elvis Presley fan, then you might want to stock up on as many Stitch Meet and Greet moments as you can! Disney has not officially declared that the alien Stitch is becoming less of a priority within the Disney Parks, but eagle-eyed Disney fans are already noticing some worrisome signs.

When Walt Disney World Resort Guests think of Tomorrowland in the Magic Kingdom within Walt Disney World Resort these days, they think of the new TRON roller coaster called TRON: Lightcycle / Run, not rides like the now-defunct Stitch attraction that was called Stitch’s Great Escape.

We have already seen indications that Walt Disney World is going all in on TRON aesthetics, with new additions like the futuristic Energy Bytes kiosk being announced — but with that change comes even less space for old favorites like Stitch attractions or events!

Some fans might take encouragement from the plans for the live-action Lilo & Stitch movie since that suggests more of a focus on Stitch, but when it comes to Stitch and the character’s presence within the actual Disney Parks, there seem to be fewer and fewer opportunities for Stitch Character Meet and Greets.

Since Character Meet and Greets and magical character interactions continue to be a real highlight for many Disney Guests, it’s surprising that Disney has cut back on Disney Guests’ chances to meet the popular Elvis fan!

Stitch will most likely still be available for visits and meet and greets in the Disney World Polynesian Resort alongside Lilo, but it seems like that opportunity is swiftly becoming the only one available in Disney World. At least we can feel safe in the knowledge that Stitch will continue to show up in Hawai’i — and perhaps he will show up more once his new movie has been released!

Would you be upset if Stitch became less and less of a presence in the Disney Parks? Is Stitch one of your favorite Disney characters to meet, and is Lilo & Stitch one of your favorite Disney movies?
