A former Cast Member shared a message asking Guests to be more considerate of Cast Members who work on the recently returned “Fantasmic!”
The Walt Disney World Resort is home to four incredible Theme Parks—Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The Disney Resort and each Disney Park have Guests flocking to them for the magical experience they provide. The Parks have myriad rides and attractions that make them an “must-visit.” The heart of the Disney experience, however, are the Disney Cast Members.

Disney Cast Members work very hard to give Guests the magical experience they came for, whether that’s bringing their best to a performance of a show or if it’s surprising a Guest with a magical moment. One of the most beloved shows that has recently returned as of November 3 is “Fantasmic!” The show takes place in an outdoor amphitheater in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, so, Central Florida weather can cancel a performance anytime. Walt Disney World Resort does its best to delay shows instead of canceling them, but there are times when the show must simply be canceled.
One former Fantasmic! Cast Member @dappermanatee on TikTok responded to a video of thousands of disappointed Guests following a thunderstorm that canceled the show, sharing and asking Guests to be more considerate of Cast Members in these situations.

“Have you ever been around that many people getting that angry that quickly? Only two jobs that know about that. Theater Cast Members and falling dictators,” the former CM joked. “When a show goes down like this, you have absolutely no control over what happens, and people come to you to all of a sudden complain about them getting their money back for the whole day.”
He went on to explain the particularities of working “Fantasmic!”
“When you work at Fantasmic!, one of the worst things is it’s the last show of the day. People do not care anymore what you have to say. What’re you going to do, throw them out? Park closes in like 45 minutes. It’s a mess working that. It’s like wrangling cats.”
The former Cast Member continued that this behavior very much indicated that people were okay hurting union actors and performers provided the Guests got what they wanted, and cautioned against that kind of behavior.
In the comments, people largely supported @dappermanatee’s point and seconded his opinions reminding people that “seeing Mickey get electrocuted is not the vibe.”
