While the thrill rides, decadent dining, and ritzy Resorts captivate Disney Guests, the parades are the character-filled glue that holds the Parks together. Without parades and spectacular fireworks productions, the Walt Disney experience feels a little less magical.
The magic was muted for Guests at Disneyland Paris on May 12, 2023, when the Park suddenly canceled the beloved Disneyland Stars on Parade—featuring fan-favorite Disney characters, including Elsa, Maleficent, Rafiki, Chip ‘n’ Dale, Pluto, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and more household names. The Disneyland Stars on Parade doesn’t just feature characters; the show also hosts impressive floats and musical classics to top off an afternoon in the Park.

With workers on strike at Disneyland Paris, the parade was pulled at the final hour, and today—it happened again. In a post shared by @DLPReport, crowds lined Main Street, U.S.A., to see the anticipated Disneyland Stars on Parade, only to hear it had been canceled for a second time.
The post by @DLPReport stated:
Today’s performance of Disney Stars on Parade has also been canceled due to the ongoing strike action. Some of the Disneyland Paris entertainment Cast Members are requesting better pay conditions.

Disney enthusiasts know how meticulously-planned itineraries are for a Disney vacation, and lining up for the parade is crucial to snagging a prime viewing spot. Crowds combat bottlenecks and stroller jams just to secure a spot to view the parade, and learning about a sudden cancellation is inconvenient, to say the least.
In response to the original tweet, @dlpdadfan asked the million-dollar question:
They announce it at 5pm when people have queued up for a spot for a while?

Other responses supported the Cast Members seeking better wages from the overseas Park, like this one from @87DisneyDreamer:
The Cast Members creates the Magic we all love so much they deserve a wage they can life from it and don’t have to be worried about how to pay bills

The back-to-back Disneyland Paris Parade cancellations come on the heels of another recently canned show: the Dream… And Shine Brighter parade. Some Disney Park Guests might contemplate buying Disneyland Paris tickets among abrupt cancellations of beloved Disney character showcases.
With workers protesting the raised retirement age from 62 to 64 all over France, it’s hard to predict when the Disneyland Paris Cast Members will return—if at all.
