Happy Birthday, Disneyland Paris!

New Disneyland Paris Song

On a cool spring morning, another Disney kingdom opened its gates to the world. It was called Euro Disneyland. 30 years later, Disney’s second Resort outside of the United States–rebranded Disneyland Paris–stands as one of Europe’s top tourist destinations with two Theme Parks, a shopping and dining district, golf courses, and several high-quality Resort Hotels.

In honor of its 30th Birthday, we at Disney Fanatic wanted to pay a short tribute to what is widely considered the most beautiful Park in the Disney family. So, let’s start there:

The Most Beautiful Disney Park

When Disney’s then-CEO Michael Eisner set out to create Parc Disneyland, he was determined to make it the most beautiful Disney Park in the family. And, boy, did he deliver on that promise. From the first walk down Main Street, U.S.A., to Alice’s Curious Labyrinth, the detail Walt Disney Imagineers went through to make this Park a reality is awe-inspiring.

Sleeping Beauty Castle is the most imaginative-looking castle–and the only one to feature a fire-breathing dragon. The beautiful Disneyland Hotel is styled to fit into the turn of the century appeal and sits just outside the gates offering Guests Park views and easy access.

Discoveryland brings to life Disney’s sense of steampunk style and adventure from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea to Treasure Planet and Atlantis: The Lost Empire. The replacement for Tomorrowland is also home to Space Mountain: Mission II, which stands as arguably the best Space Mountain in the family.

Other Disneyland Paris rides also stand out among its peers around the world, including Phantom Manor. But its version of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is in a class all its own.

Coming Soon: The Most Exciting Theme Park!

It was not long after Disneyland Paris opened that The Walt Disney Company gave it a second gate: Walt Disney Studios Park. Officially the smallest and least attended Disney Park at its opening, Walt Disney Studios is set to become, in this reporter’s opinion, the most exciting Disney Park ever. Recent developments already left it with a Pixar-dedicated land with the original version of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, RC Racer, and Crush’s Coaster. But construction is underway to add three news lands: Marvel’s Avengers Campus, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, and Arendelle: The World of Frozen.
