Disney has had some funny naming conventions over the years—but only true fans would remember the infamous PRNDL.
One of the best things about being a Disney fan is uncovering all the inside jokes we have as a fandom. From insider knowledge about the Disney theme parks—be that Walt Disney World or Disneyland—to knowing every small instance of our favorite childhood shows on the Disney Channel.
It’s always enjoyable to reminisce about shows long over and remind ourselves of characters and series that brought a laugh to our hearts and a smile to our faces, particularly remembering their unique aspects. And few are as unique as “the PRNDL.”

The Suite Life of Zack and Cody Teaches Fans About the PRNDL
When it was released, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody was one of the most popular shows on the Disney Channel. The show followed the shenanigans of two young twins—Zack Martin and Cody Martin (Dylan Sprouse and Cole Sprouse)—when they moved with their mother, Carey Martin (Kim Rhodes), into a suite at the fictional Tipton Hotel in Boston. The TV show also stars Ashley Tisdale as Maddie Fitzpatrick.
To the consternation of Mr. Marion Moseby, the hotel manager (Phill Lewis), the twins are constantly wreaking havoc on the Tipton. Recently, a social media clip resurfaced, capturing a moment between Mr. Moseby and billionaire heiress London Tipton (Brenda Song).
The clip was from the episode where Mr. Moseby was teaching London how to drive, and the pair get into a conversation about “the PRNDL.”

As true fans of the show would know, PRNDL is what London Tipton calls the gear shift, naming it after the letters on the lever: P (Park), R (Reverse), N (Neutral), D (Drive), and L (Low).
The moment is one of comedic relief, as was often the case with Mr. Moseby, and left many a Disney fan in splits of laughter. It’s one of those clips that is a good reminder for all fans as to why we loved the show as much as we did.

The TV show was immensely popular and even had a spinoff, The Suite Life of Deck, where an older Zack and Cody join a high school on a cruise ship owned by Mr. Tipton, the S. S. Tipton, and get up to their usual fun.
Some of the show’s most popular episodes were the crossover episodes with the Disney Channel shows Hannah Montana (with Miley Cyrus), Wizards of Waverly Place (with Selena Gomez), and more.
