Disney Genie+ Pricing to Become Park Specific!

In October 2021, now-fired Disney CEO Bob Chapek disappointed Walt Disney World fans around the globe when the popular FastPass system was officially killed and the new Disney Genie+ system was introduced. FastPass — a free system — had been around for more than two decades. Now, in addition to paying sky-high theme park prices, Guests also had to pay if they wanted to use Genie+ to get to the front of the line. In addition to that, not every attraction was a part of Genie+ and would require a separate payment for the shorter individual Lightning Lane.

At first, Genie+ had a set price at both Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort — where it was introduced in December 2021. However, the set price didn’t last a long time. The price for Genie+ then fluctuated based on the time of the year and even the day of the week. Despite Guest complaints, Genie+ still remains something that they are willing to pay for. Guests have said that they feel like they have to purchase Genie+ if they want to have a chance at riding all the attractions they want during their Disney Park day.

We have now learned that the Genie+ pricing system is about to change once again. According to theme park reporter Scott Gustin, Disney Genie+ pricing will soon become Park specific!

NEW: Beginning June 27, Walt Disney World will introduce park-specific Genie+.

Guests purchasing Genie+ will select either a single-park option or multiple-parks option. “Multiple Parks” will work same as current Genie+ with valid Park Hopper. Prices will vary by date and park.

It appears that Genie+ will still fluctuate in price, but certain theme parks — like Disney’s Animal Kingdom — will be cheaper than the Magic Kingdom. This makes a lot of sense, considering Animal Kingdom has a lot fewer rides than the Magic Kingdom.

With this update on June 27, Genie+ prices will be lower at some parks compared to others. As an example, on June 27 prices will be:

Multiple Parks: $27/person
Magic Kingdom: $27/person
Hollywood Studios: $24/person
EPCOT: $18/person
Animal Kingdom: $16/person

Guests will still be able to purchase the Disney Genie service for multiple Parks if they have a Park Hopper ticket, and the price will continue to vary. It is also important to note that the new Genie+ pricing system will not override the Park Hopping restrictions that are in place. Disney Park Hopping will still not be allowed until 2 p.m. daily for Walt Disney World Guests. Disney has said that the Park Hopping restrictions will remain in place through 2024, despite Guests voicing their frustrations at the rule.

Disneyland Resort’s Genie+ pricing will not be changing at this time.
