disney ride shut down

In the latest Disney Park news, a Disney Guest accidentally set their ride vehicle on fire, causing the ride to shut down.

Ride shutdown stories abound in the world of the Disney Parks. There have been incidents that we’ve reported on where the reason for the shutdown took many fans by surprise, and yet others when the repeated closure of a ride has led fans to demand a retheme. There have even been times when “traumatized” fans demanded a ride be shut down. Needless to say, we’ve reported on the entire gamut of ride shutdown stories, but this one is a little different.

Just this week, a Disney Guest, hunter steele, took to the social media platform, TikTok, to share that his sister accidentally set her ride vehicle at Cars Land on fire and shut down the entire ride at Disneyland Resort.

As viewers can see in the video, steele added the text, “when your sister breaks the whole ride at Disneyland because she drops her phone and it starts on literal fire.” The video has since gone viral and received over 20K likes on the platform. However, the frustration of fellow Disney Guests and fans in the comments was notable in this situation.

User sofiapaschero commented, “Seriously? It’s not that hard to hold onto your phone. Now they going to prohibit recording on rides ??‍♀️”

Another user, josephhmurciaa, skipped the frustration and immediately shared he felt Disney should implement a “no phones out on a ride” rule.

A few users, however, did sympathize with the OP’s sister. Stephanie Molineros commented, “They have wrist lanyards for phones. Stick it to the phone and clip a wrist or full one. I usually hold my phone with one. I’m so sorry this happened!”

As many Guests and Disney Fans know, safety and security are the number one priority for Disney, and when incidents like this happen, Disney Cast Members are going to ensure all Guests are first and foremost taken care of and not in danger.
