Disney Ride Leaves Guests “Traumatized,” Fans Say Should Be Shut Down

Guests at Disney’s Hollywood Studios had a terrifying experience on a ride and were compensated for their trouble with Lightning Lane passes.

The Walt Disney World Resort is known as “The Most Magical Place on Earth,” and the Disney Resort and each Disney Parks—think Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Animal Kingdom—earn that moniker in spades. Guests flock to the Disney Theme Parks to get their fill of the Disney magic. Occasionally though, things do go awry at the Parks, though Disney Cast Members are known to be highly trained to help mitigate the situation when that happens.

One ride that has been reported to have had some strange occurrences is Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. In the past, people have reported unique experiences of the ride. This week, a group of Disney’s Hollywood Studios Guests got stuck during the drop portion of the thrill ride for over thirty minutes. One Guest, Megan (@moolou_), shared the experience on TikTok:

In response to the first, many Guests shared that they had also been in similar situations. One Jim Gilmon even said, “that ride needs shut down. my seat belt broke during a drop. I came out of the seat. they didn’t even look like they cared.”

Megan did post a second video, seen below, where she updated viewers:

They pulled our elevator to this backstage room and gave us some lightening lane passes meanwhile I’m traumatized for life Lmao. We are all okay and happy to be back on ground. It only lasted about 30 minutes!!

One former Cast Member responded to Megan’s video informing her, “Former cast member here ??‍♀️This ride is one among a handful that only has very experienced cast members operate it. ” thereby letting her and other fans know they have nothing to worry about.

It’s always important to remember that Disney Cast Members are well-trained and well-equipped to deal with these types of situations when they arise.
