Live-action remakes are currently a controversial subject among Disney fans. Between the various casting decisions Disney has made for The Little Mermaid and Peter Pan and Wendy that has many fans frustrated, and the general apathy towards Disney “not making them like they used to,” it seems that the Mouse House is in for a tough ride. However, despite this, the classic animated movie from 2002, “Lilo & Stitch,” has been one of the most anticipated live-action remakes since its announcement.

What we’ve heard about the movie so far is that it will be directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, and Chris Kekaniokalani Bright has written the live-action adaptation. Disney has also cast one of its first stars: the hilarious Zach Galifianakis from The Hangover. Reportedly, Galifianakis will play Pleakley, a one-eyed former member of the Galactic Federation who works to recapture Stitch when he escapes to planet Earth.

We also know Chris Sanders will reprise his role and is part of the voice cast for Stitch.

But there is still the question of casting the remaining characters, and Disney is on the hunt for them right now. BadDog Casting LA put out an open casting call to find their perfect Lilo, Tūtū, and Mrs. Kekoa, as seen below:

This means two incredibly exciting things for Disney Fanatics! We know that Disney is on the hunt to find the right person for this call, which means this movie has a high chance of being really good. Also, if you’ve ever wanted to give acting a shot, and want to star in a Disney movie, here’s your chance to try! If you fit any of these descriptions (or know anyone who does), throw your hat in the ring and see what comes of it!

Who knows, you might be the next Jenna Ortega, Selena Gomez, or Dove Cameron!

The movie is set for a straight-to-streaming release on Disney+ and will be released in 2024.
