These days, most Disney Cruise Line news has involved the newest addition to the Disney cruise ship fleet, which is called the Disney Wish and includes some very special one-of-a-kind Disney experiences. This new Disney cruise ship only just began offering cruise vacations to Disney Guests earlier this summer, but now Disney Guests have something more important to keep an eye on if they are planning Disney cruises: COVID-19 vaccination requirements!
The Disney Cruise Line has changed its vaccination requirements many times for passengers ever since the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic began in 2020, but now another update is coming on October 14. As of this date (according to the Disney Cruise Line website), the only Disney cruise passengers who will have to take a COVID-19 test before boarding are any unvaccinated passengers — and no one is required to be vaccinated in order to join the cruise (even though it is still recommended).
In order to avoid undergoing said COVID-19 testing, “fully vaccinated Guests must upload their proof of vaccination to the Inspire Diagnostics Safe Passage website by midnight prior to embarkation day.”
For unvaccinated Guests, a COVID-19 test (including but not limited to “an observed antigen test through a proctored telehealth service with digital results” or “rapid or lab-based PCR test, or Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT)”) must be submitted one to two days before setting sail.
Journalist Scott Gustin shared the news as well, saying that “Disney Cruise Line has made a change to its vaccination policy” in the Tweet shown below.
Disney Cruise Line has made a change to its vaccination policy. Beginning Oct. 14 for Disney Wonder, Dream, Fantasy, Wish sailings — guests will no longer be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. 5+ unvaccinated must test. Under 4 – no testing required. pic.twitter.com/sD7uOHC3vy

According to his summary of the changes, “Beginning Oct. 14 for Disney Wonder, Dream, Fantasy, Wish sailings — Guests will no longer be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. 5+ unvaccinated must test. Under 4 – no testing required.”
We already saw the Disney Cruise Line ease up on COVID-19 vaccination requirements for cruise Guests earlier this summer, with a vaccine requirement involving every “vaccine eligible” family member over five years old being shifted to cruise passengers who were a minimum of 12 years old instead (and a recommendation that Guests younger than that still be fully vaccinated, too, even though it wasn’t mandatory anymore).
Do you have any Disney cruises planned on Disney’s cruise ships? Which ship are you sailing on: the Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Fantasy, Disney Dream, or the Disney Wish?
