Disney Cast Members are the beating heart of the Disney experience. Any Disney Fanatic can attest to the fact that a Disney Cast Member makes the Disney Parks experience—whether at Walt Disney World Resort or at Disneyland Resort—what it is for so many Guests who flock to the Disney Parks around the world.
Disney Parks
Disney Parks are known for their attention to detail, immersive storytelling, thrilling rides, live entertainment, parades, character meet-and-greets, and enchanting experiences for Guests worldwide. With domestic Parks like Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort and international Parks like Disneyland Paris, Tokyo Disney Resort, and Hong Kong Disneyland being home to rides and attractions like Space Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and more, it’s no question why this is the case.
However, central to the Disney experience are Disney’s unbelievable Cast Members who make magic every day. Guests have shared many stories of how Cast Members have made their Disney Park visit particularly memorable. Appreciating Disney Cast Members goes a long way. Guests can do that through Cast Compliments, and it’s one many visitors use frequently.
Disney Announces a Change to Cast Member Nametags
However, Disney recently announced a change they were making for Cast Members that takes note of their role. Disney Parks Blog shared on its platform recently that Cast Members would be getting an all-new name tag. A “time-honored Disney tradition for over 50 years” at Walt Disney World, Disney Parks describes name tags as “a symbol that connects us to our guests and each other at The Most Magical Place on Earth.”

Designed by costume designer Joshua Winchester, the name tags were inspired by twinkly stars and pixie dust’s magic motifs.
“The singular, golden star above Cinderella Castle represents our cast who are the guiding light of the Walt Disney World Resort,” Winchester shared, “while the field of stars represents that little sprinkling of pixie dust our cast carry while making magic for our guests.”
From Disney Parks Blog,
The dreamy, misty blues were also inspired by the color palette from the Disney classic animated film, “Cinderella.” For the finishing touch, the nametag also features a glossy finish over the stars for a little glint and sparkle when the light catches.
This is certainly a welcome change to highlight the irreplaceable place that Cast Members have at the Disney Parks!
