Disney Star Suffered Seizures After Feeling Pressured to Get Plastic Surgery

A Disney Channel star recently revealed she underwent plastic surgery before the age of 18 and suffered seizures while recovering from it.

The Walt Disney Company is known for making sure its stars adhere to a clean image, and none have expressed this more than former Disney stars who have spoken out time and again about how difficult and challenging their time with Disney Channel was. From celebrities like Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato to Dove Cameron, many have shared how their Disney past left them with a lot of heavy baggage.

The Best Podcast Ever with Raven and Miranda

Disney star Raven Symoné, most known for her role in the series That’s So Raven and the current spinoff Raven’s Home, the Cheetah Girls movies, and more, started a podcast with her wife and partner Miranda Maday called The Best Podcast Ever with Raven and Miranda. On the podcast, Symoné has revealed surprising claims about herself (think along the lines of being psychic).

Recently, however, Symoné revealed some more heartbreaking realities of her life when she was working on the Disney Channel show, That’s So Raven.

Raven Explains She Underwent Multiple Plastic Surgeries, Suffered Seizures Before the Age of 18

In a recent episode, Symoné revealed that after facing a ton of criticism for her weight over the years, she got two breast reductions and liposuction before age 18. That isn’t all. After her first breast reduction surgery, Symoné explained she even suffered a seizure.

“I remember waking up and seeing everything… and then I just started to have this dry mouth and couldn’t breathe and went back under,’” Symoné shared.

Symoné added, “Just knowing that the reason I opened my eyes and couldn’t swallow or breathe was because I was having a seizure, remembering that moment but not remembering the seizure… still freaks me out.”

The Disney star also shared her father was a driving force behind the surgeries. “My dad suggested strongly that I should get my breasts reduced… He was like, ‘So you don’t feel bad, is there anything that you want?’ I was like, ‘Yeah, if I get lipo, will people stop calling me fat?’”

Despite these painful procedures and experiences, Symoné shared she still received a lot of hate on social media as a child star. “I still got reamed through social media because I wasn’t skinny as everybody else, and they still called me fat. You get that done, and it’s still not what everybody wanted to see.”

Symoné’s story is one of many and demonstrates the heartbreaking reality of being in the limelight from such a young age.
