After appearing to be single for months now, Selena Gomez recently took to her Instagram story to confirm her romance with music producer Benny Blanco. The Rare Beauty founder shared a photo of a ring with the letter B on it on December 7, and later that same day, also commented on a social media fan account verifying the news.

“He is my absolute everything in my heart,” she commented. She also added about the relationship, “Then why has he been the best thing that’s ever happened to me. The end.”

Gomez further defended her relationship on social media, commenting, “I don’t understand. If you actually care about me. This is my happiest. If you don’t feel free to say whatever you want. But I will never allow your words to guide my life. Ever. I’m done. If you can’t accept me at my happiest then don’t be in [m]y life at all.”

Fans Frustrated at Gomez for Seemingly “Lying” About Relationship Status

Blanco and Gomez also recently worked together on her newest single, “Single Soon,” wherein she says in the video, “Guess who has a boyfriend? Not me bitch, y’all be safe out there,” while “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” played in the background.

In addition, she said in August that she was “enjoying being single” in an interview with SiriusXM Hits 1 LA.

Many fans were incredibly frustrated that Gomez had seemingly “lied” about her single status, with one user posting a thread on X collating, “All the time Selena Gomez talked about Justin Beiber and Hailey Beiver and claimed that she’s single in [the] last 6 months.”
