What Does It Mean? Disney Hides Secrets in Mysterious Treasure Map

Disney Cruise Line is set to make some major announcements and reveals involving the Disney Treasure cruise ship next week. In anticipation of the event, the company has posted a mysterious treasure map online for fans to analyze in hopes of discovering the secrets that will be revealed. MANY clues are scattered around the map, so let’s break down what they could mean for the Disney Treasure.

Disney Treasure Sets Sail in 2024

The Disney Treasure is Disney Cruise Line’s eagerly anticipated sixth ship. It is currently being meticulously crafted at the renowned Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. The ship is set to embark on its maiden voyage in 2024. As a sister ship to the enchanting Disney Wish, which debuted in 2022, the Disney Treasure promises a familiarity for seasoned Disney cruisers reminiscent of the beloved Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, Disney Wonder, and Disney Magic. However, it will keep close to the Disney Wish while definitely sporting some new themes and offerings to set it apart.

This magnificent vessel, dedicated to the theme of adventure, pays homage to Walt Disney’s unwavering passion for exploration. A stunning Grand Hall adorned with statues of Aladdin and Jasmine gives a feeling of faraway royalty. Guests will be captivated by Broadway-style shows and immersive experiences that promise to trigger nostalgia. The ship will also house the AquaMouse water attraction, first introduced on the Disney Wish but with a new theme.

Setting sail to various destinations, including the Caribbean and the Bahamas, the Disney Treasure looks to be a popular option, especially as it will reportedly include Disney’s new Lighthouse Point island as a stop. With Peter Pan gracing the stern and Captain Minnie adorning the bow, this ship will surely set sail with a sense of wonder and adventure that only Disney can deliver. But what exactly could Disney be delivering to set it apart? The clues are in the treasure map.

Disney Treasure Announcements Via Map

Disney Journalist Scott Gustin posted a high-resolution image of the map. He also offered up a few opinions on what he thought certain sections were hinting at via scenes.

The Judy Hopps and Nick Wylde ice cream snippet most likely indicates that the Inside Out-inspired Joyful Sweets gelato shop will feature a Zootopia theme. Furthermore, Frozen‘s presence on the top of the map seems to link to the Hero Zone on the Disney Wish.

There are so many scenes across the map that it would be almost impossible to guess every single one. However, here are some highlights that we think might be coming to the Disney Treasure:

• There is Miguel’s Mexican village on the far right of the map. This could indicate a Coco-themed dining experience or a show in the ship’s theater.
• The Beauty and the Beast imagery more than likely suggests that the Disney Treasure‘s Palo restaurant will continue with the theme established on the Disney Wish.
• Jungle Cruise is an interesting inclusion. Rumors have spread that a Haunted Mansion bar venue will be on the Disney Treasure, so perhaps Jungle Cruise will also have a similar location onboard.
• Maui’s hook from Moana is also present in the bottom left. In the same manner as Coco, maybe it will involve a show or dining experience.
• Interestingly, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and Jungle Book appear on the map. We are at a loss for what they could indicate, but it could be anything similar to our other guesses.
