Potato Salad ICE CREAM at Disney? It’s True!

One of the things that makes Disney different from any other theme park is the incredible food that can be found there. Sure, Guests can purchase burgers, pizza, and popcorn, but there is so much more. Walt Disney World has some incredible restaurants that feature everything from Italian to Mexican, French, German, and more. Over on the West Coast, Guests visiting Disneyland and Disney California Adventure can dine on dishes featuring the best flavors of California. They can also enjoy specialty churros and Disneyland’s most iconic dish, the Monte Cristo sandwich.

Disneyland and Disney World each have their own unique offerings that you can’t find at the other. However, there is one fantastic dining spot they both have in common. That is the amazing ice cream spot Salt & Straw. Salt & Straw is located in Downtown Disney at Disneyland and in Disney Springs at Walt Disney World.

Salt & Straw is known for not only making its own ice cream, but for its truly one-of-a-kind flavors. Guests can enjoy housemade options like Honey Lavender, Strawberry Honey Balsamic With Black Pepper, and Arbequina Olive Oil. The Disney Springs location also offers Florida flavors like Salty Donut Guava and Cheese and Roasted Pineapple Coconut Sherbet. Downtown Disney has options like Pear Gorgonzola and Coffee & Love Nuts.

Throughout the year, Salt & Straw offers limited-time, seasonal flavors. It is one of those flavors that has people doing a double-take. As part of its Summer Picnic Series, Salt & Straw is offering Chocolate Potato Salad. Yes, Chocolate Potato Salad.

Of course, no picnic is complete without the potato salad—make that potato salad ice cream. It’s a must-try scoop of spiced mustard ice cream, perfectly summer-seasoned with paprika, celery seed, dill, and the sweet crunch of potato chip cookies. Made to melt on your molars with a thick ripple of chocolate fudge.

In addition to the Chocolate Potato Salad ice cream, Salt & Straw’s Summer Picnic Series also includes Pink Rosé & Watermelon Sorbet, Baked Brie & Fig Cheesecake, Cinnamon & Honey Fried Chicken, and Sour Cherry Pie.

These new flavors were introduced on August 4 at both the Downtown Disney and Disney Springs locations. They will only be available for a limited time. Salt & Straw will soon swap out those options for ones that focus on the flavors of fall. So, if you’re feeling daring, head down to Salt & Straw to try the Summer Picnic Series for yourself!

Salt & Straw is not the only dining option Disneyland and Disney World will have in common. Later this year, Blue Ribbon Corn Dog is opening on Disney’s BoardWalk. Blue Ribbon Corn Dog is a staple food cart in Downtown Disney and is most well-known for its incredible Pickle Corn Dog.
