Disney World Appears To Prepping For a Possible Full Return of the WDW Railroad

The Walt Disney World Ride has been spotted again by fans who called it a “Christmas miracle,” giving much hope that this beloved attraction could return soon!

The Walt Disney World Resort is filled with many incredible rides and attractions that Guests can enjoy and take in. Between the magical Cinderella Castle, which is a big crowd-puller, complemented by amazing rides like “Haunted Mansion” in Disney’s Magic Kingdom, “Tower of Terror” in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, “Spaceship Earth” in EPCOT and “Expedition Everest” in Animal Kingdom Park, Guests have much to choose from to immerse themselves in any Disney Theme Park and experience a Disney vacation.

Of them all, one beloved attraction that has been missing in action for over 2000 days—almost five years—is the Walt Disney World Railroad. The attraction was forced to close due to Disney’s upcoming TRON Lightcycle Run roller coaster construction in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom.

While Disney still hasn’t announced any official news regarding an open date for this attraction, the train was spotted chugging away yet again. This comes after a few fans spotted the train being tested on more than one count, and an official Disney Parks TikTok that shared Disney has been making progress on the Railroad.

While fans were incredibly excited to see this coming about—many commented about how the reopening surely couldn’t be too far out—some fans responded humorously, recalling the fan reactions from when Disney officially announced the Railroad was being tested.

Cheryl Platz,@funnygodmother, shared, “And we saw them running FREQUENT test trains on Tron on Sunday! Back to back to back. It’s almost like they actually want to open in 2023.”

The attraction has a Fantasyland station, a Frontierland station, and one near the entrance to Main Street, U.S.A. as well. Disney fans have all been eagerly awaiting the return of this ride, so all of these are incredibly promising signs of an upcoming return to the Disney Park!
