The Hollywood Studios Attraction, Walt Disney Presents, was initially reported to be closing its door to guests for a while, before Disney changed its mind; here’s the news.
Disney Park attraction closures are part and parcel of the Disney experience. Any guest is well-versed with the concept of rides shutting shop (hopefully briefly, but in some unfortunate cases, this can also be permanent—Splash Mountain, we’re looking at you).
However, recently, a strange occurrence happened with Disney World wherein it was announced that an attraction would be closing for refurbishment, only for Disney to change its mind a few hours later.
Walt Disney Presents Reported to Close for Refurbishment
The Animation Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has the unique Walt Disney Presents attraction. The attraction, first built to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Walt’s birth, showcases Walt Disney’s journey from the small-town United States to the glitzy, glamorous Hollywood in a gallery.
At the gallery, guests can enjoy one-of-a-kind sketches, photos, models, costumes, artwork, and more. There is also Walt Disney: One Man’s Dream, a 15-minute documentary, on offer for guests to take in.
On January 23, Disney World’s website seemingly updated to inform guests that the attraction would be closed from February 12 through March 1, as multiple websites reported.
However, after checking the website just a few short hours later, it was evident that Disney World would be keeping the attraction open to guests during that time frame. As of the publishing of this article, guests can visit Walt Disney Presents between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. through March.
It’s unclear whether this was a technological glitch or error or of there were initial plans to close the attraction that was then rescheduled. However, fans of Walt Disney Presents can rest easy that the attraction will, in fact, be open to appreciate and enjoy for now.
