Disney World’s Genie+ Price Hits Record High Again

Disney Genie+ Price

Merry Christmas!

On December 23, the controversial Disney Day optimizer and Disney FastPass replacement was made available for its current record-high price since launching just over a year ago.

While the Disney Genie service is initially free, offering access to personalized tip boards and suggestions for food and beverage options, Disney Genie+ features some PhotoPass features, and Lightning Lane access costs extra. At the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, Disney Genie+ used to cost a standard $15 per person per day. But earlier this year, Disney Fanatic reported that the price would fluctuate daily based on the expected demand.

The previous high price this week was $25 per person per day. Today, it reportedly costs $29 per person per day, matching the record high it hit over Thanksgiving.

It should be noted that Genie+ only offers Lightning Lane access to a majority of previously FastPass-accessible attractions. The newest and most popular attractions require the purchase of an Individual Lightning Lane pass, and those prices are also known to fluctuate based on demand. It is unclear at this time if the Individual Lightning Lane selection has also increased in price or not. We are only two days away from Christmas, and the Holiday Season marks one of the business times of year for The Most Magical Place On Earth. It will be interesting to see if Genie+ will break the $30 mark on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

Remember that neither Genie Plus nor Individual Lightning Lane reservation can be made until the day you visit a Disney Park and is restricted base on current Park Hopper limitations. While there have been hopeful rumors that changes will come to systems like Genie+ with Bob Chapek gone and Bob Iger back in control, it seems that things will remain the same for the time being.

We at Disney Fanatic will continue to update our readers on Disney Parks news and stories as more developments come to light.
