One of the biggest reasons fans love the Disney Parks is because of how magical the Disney experience is. It’s a little bubble, plucked out of this world, where fans can escape the realities and stresses of everyday life, even if just for a moment. And one thing that all Disney Fanatics love is being able to take a piece of that Disney magic home, or at least being able to experience the Disney magic in real life. And, the latest in Disney news, one recent collaboration that the Walt Disney Company has participated in for the Disney100 celebration with South Korean automotive company Hyundai has us in our feels.
At the upcoming Oscars ceremony, fans can expect to see more than one Disney reference: some beloved Disney characters will be making an appearance for fans to enjoy. Hyundai Motor America will run a 60-second commercial connecting its vehicles to Disney characters, think Disney’s Alice in Wonderland, Princess Jasmine and Aladdin from Aladdin and the Steamboat Wilie version of Mickey Mouse.
The soundtrack to this tear-jerking commercial? Disney’s Pinocchio’s “When You Wish Upon a Star.”

Disney is certainly making their presence known as a forward-thinking entertainment company and a beloved brand with this unique collaboration for their Disney100 celebration, and Hyundai is benefiting in turn as well.
Angela Zepeda, the chief marketing officer of Hyundai, added in an interview that the brand wanted to build an emotional connection with its customers: “We want to connect with audiences in a very emotional way. We haven’t done that very well in all the years we have been in the U.S. We have been a little cold. We tried to sell our sheet metal and didn’t’ tell how we care about them as consumers or how we can affect them in their day-to-day lives.”
As some Disney Fanatics will know, Hyundai is the exclusive sponsor in North America for the Disney100 celebration. They will be a part of many other Disney events throughout the year. While the Disney character appearances did reportedly have to be negotiated, the final result has been more than worth it!
