At last, we have even more details surrounding EPCOT’s planned Moana-inspired attraction that’s been in the works for quite some time. The new attraction, known as Journey of Water inspired by Moana, will take Guests on a magical journey, following the personable element of water and its significance on our planet. While we’ve had details on this attraction for some time, we at last know that it will officially be opening by the end of 2023.

Another exciting announcement on the EPCOT front is that a classic, arguably underrated, fan-favorite character exclusive to this Disney Park in particular will be returning live and in person for fan Meet and Greets by the end of the 2023 year. We are, of course talking about that lovable dragon Figment, namesake to the attraction Journey into Imagination with Figment.
Figment came on the scene when the attraction Journey into Imagination first opened back in 1983. He was, however, briefly removed altogether (along with his fellow companion and creator “the Dreamfinder”) after the attraction was closed for refurbishment and then reopened in 1999 as Journey into YOUR Imagination. The decision to remove the lovable purple dragon, however, outraged many fans, forcing the attraction to close again and reopen with his triumphant return and inclusion. That just shows how popular he is as now Figment is even included in every scene of the current attraction Journey Into Imagination with Figment.
