Some called out the ostensible hypocrisy in Disney fans’ activism and political stances in the light of the company’s recent earnings call.
The Walt Disney Company is one of many that are constantly called out for their double standards when it comes to values. Whether it’s for the support of LGBTQ+ audiences and people, or it’s for any donations to causes around the world (while letting cast members languish in arguably underpaid positions), time and again, fans have called Disney out for its actions.

Disney Fans Called Out for Hypocritical Double Standards of Political Activism
Recently, however, after Disney’s Q1 earnings call, one X user took to the platform to call out other fans rather than the Mouse House itself.
The OP wrote,
Hollywood, the government and all other entities that track our data, metrics and algorithms are seeing how they just need to dangle a cheap shiny new thing in front of you and you forget all about your activism and political stances….
The OP continued,
“Hollywood is complicit! Disney is evil! There are Zionists in these projects! Marvel is in bed with the US military!” News for new Moana, Despicable Me, Knuckles drop… “Omg I can’t wait to watch and support the same ppl I’ve been saying are evil n finding genocide!”

As fans know, just this month, Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger shared a lot of new and exciting news about what’s to come from the Mouse House this year, including a surprise announcement of the new Disney movie Moana 2, which is due to hit theatres this fall.
The OP’s assertion is that, similar to Disney’s own ostensible hypocrisy as a corporation, fans also forget their values when big names like Disney give them new movies and experiences to enjoy.
This is certainly not the first time fans have been called out when it comes to their love for Disney (whether it’s for being a Disney adult or a more serious assertion like this one).
