Guest Jumps Out of Vehicle During Disney World Ride

Guests never seem to stop pushing boundaries at Disney World—one reportedly jumped out of the vehicle on EPCOT’s Spaceship Earth during the ride.

The Walt Disney World Resort is known universally as one of the best places in the world to enjoy the Disney experience and go on a Disney vacation. The Disney Resort and its four Theme Parks—Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom—are known to house some beloved fan-favorites like “Haunted Mansion,” “Jungle Cruise,” “Tower of Terror” and lands like Pandora, among more.

Perhaps because it’s such a magical place, and a destination to fulfill dreams and fantasies, occasionally Guests will behave in a manner that is not quite apt for the Disney Park. While sometimes this can simply be bad behavior, where Guests yell at Cast Members or bring illegal paraphernalia into a Theme Park, other times it can be strange behavior that is still against Disney’s conduct policy.

The most recent occurrence was in EPCOT, Spaceship Earth. Twitter user @pharmd23 shared the video of a Guest who jumped out of his ride vehicle in the Ancient Greece section of the attraction. He then sat down in front of the teacher who educates about mathematics in the ancient world, towards the beginning of the attraction.

During the video, we see the Guest jumping out of the stopped attraction. This happens routinely and is usually to allow Guests using a wheelchair or ECV to transfer from the constantly-moving Omnimover system to their mobility device. They can last anywhere from 30 seconds to several minutes.

The Guest jumped out of the vehicle, which has no restraints, and sat with the Greek animatronics.

This behavior is strictly against Walt Disney World conduct policy. This is because entering these kinds of out-of-bounds areas runs the risk of severe injury or even expulsion from the Park. In the specific case of this ride, there are certain areas of the Spaceship Earth ride track that are next to high gaps from the floor, making this a legitimate safety concern.

We at Disney Fanatic will continue to report on all Disney news as it comes to light.
