Per a recent report, not only is Disneyland in dire need of TLC, but the Disney Resort is leaning toward a new era where it “doesn’t care” about guests.
A Disney vacation is a dream for so many guests from around the world. From the amazing land and attractions on offer to the enthralling rides and attractions like Haunted Mansion and Space Mountain, there’s a lot to love about going to either the Walt Disney World Resort or its Southern California counterpart.
One of the most noteworthy things about a Disney vacation was how singular it was in guest experience. From Disney Imagineers to cast members, everyone worked to make sure guests had a wholly immersive experience like no other at the parks. But it appears that might be changing.

Guest Reports Numerous Ride Breakdowns at Disneyland
Recnetly, one guest took to social media to explain how Disneyland is “getting bad.” The guest explained that over two days they experienced five ride breakdowns, four of which occurred while the OP and their family were on the ride. The fifth happened when they were next in line to go on the attraction.
Of course, ride breakdowns are part and parcel of the Disney experience, everyone knows this. However, what truly surprised the guest was that cast members and management did nothing to alleviate the situation.
The guest explained that at most cast members told them they were “welcome to wait in line to get back on.” The guest questioned why Disney was not maintaining rides properly since the guest didn’t remember the condition being this bad.
Moreover, they asked, “why is the policy ‘we don’t care'” when something untoward happens? The guest even added one employee reportedly said “That’s Disneyland for you” when the OP complained about these occurrences.
Fellow fans and guests in the comments jumped in to add their two bits. One wrote, “A lot of the longtime experienced mechanics left/retired during the Covid shutdown. It just hasn’t been the same since then.”
Another added to this, “Not only that, but they had about 3-4 years of slashed maintenance budgets before that.”
What was even more shocking was some inside information one Redditor shared about Disney. They wrote, “I work in a similar industry in Controls/Automation and look at job openings for giggles, saw one at Disneyland. I thought the customer-facing staff was paid poorly but the backend is just as bad if not worse.”
One former cast member commented that they knew a couple of maintenance guys when they worked at Disney. The former cast member explained, “One of them would say that Disney would always order the cheapest(but still safe) replacement parts for a lot of their attractions.”
It’s important to note that this is just one guest’s experience at Disneyland and doesn’t reflect every individual’s time at the parks.
This said, we hope this guest’s trip looked up after these issues.
