Limited-Time Holiday Sing-Along Coming to Hollywood Studios

The Walt Disney Company has been as busy as an elf in Santa’s workshop this week. While we are still only halfway to the upcoming holiday season, it hasn’t stopped the company from revealing all of its delicious events and festivities coming to the Parks, with a particular focus on Walt Disney World in Orlando.

We get it. Florida is not the best example of a winter wonderland destination for the season. However, if you haven’t experienced a Disney World holiday celebration, you are definitely missing out! The theme park leaves nothing in the sleigh regarding theming, festive activities, and entertainment.

This year, Guests can also look forward to a new separately ticketed event coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Cleverly titled Disney’s Jollywood Nights, the affair promises to be a holiday vibe like you’ve never felt before. Revelers can get down to modern beats over classic holiday songs while sampling cocktails and food surrounded by nostalgic glitz and glam. There are also a ton of limited-time entertainment venues, including a secretive sing-along show at the Hyperion Theater. Spoiler alert – it’s not Frozen!

What’s This?

The Jollywood Nights announcement detailed what to expect at the party but left fans in the dark about the sing-along’s identity. We do know that you will be greeted by a live DJ spinning a mix of holiday music at the entrance of Commissary Lane.

We also have confirmation that Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy will show up at the Theater of Stars. Disney even revealed a jazz lounge and other-worldly soiree in the mix. They couldn’t even contain the surprise return of “Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!” When it came to the sing-along, however, all they could say was it was spirited…and more details would follow.

Thankfully, we didn’t have to wait long to find out what Disney classic would take over for Frozen Sing-Along Celebration at the ticketed event. What we didn’t anticipate, however, was the movie’s identity.

This Christmas Thing Is Not as Tricky as It Seems!

Tom Vazzana, creative director with Disney Live Entertainment, revealed the surprise onstage later in the announcement. The songs that we will be singing along to come from cult classic Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.

“We’re going to transform that whole theater. We’re going to dress all the walls. We are changing out all of the scenery,” he said to excited fans. He then continued with more spine-tingling details:

Two Tim Burton fans are going to take you on this ride and we are going to sing-along to songs like “What’s This?” and “Kidnap the Sandy Claws.” If you sing loud enough and strong enough,  then it’s going to snow. There’s going to be fog, Jack Skellington will appear, and so will Oogie Boogie.

So there you have it. The Hyperion Theater will host a The Nightmare Before Christmas sing-along spectacular where Jack Skellington and Oogie Boogie will appear! Disney is not shy about theming, so we can anticipate the entire venue to have some spooky Halloween Town Vibes.
