Fans visiting EPCOT during last year’s holiday season got a festive surprise when experiencing one popular ride. Is the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Holiday Remix Not Coming to Town?

Sadly, it looks like the holiday remix for the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind attraction will take a break this year. This news will likely come as a disappointment to fans who were eagerly awaiting the festive twist on the popular ride.

The Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind attraction at EPCOT’s Future World in Walt Disney World Resort has become a major draw for visitors since its opening. Combining high-speed roller coaster elements with the beloved characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the ride offers a completely unique take on what a thrill ride can do. Who can deny the charm of Chris Pratt’s Peter Quill or Bradley Cooper’s hilarious Rocket Raccoon while spinning in space?

The holiday remix, introduced last year as a special seasonal update, garnered significant attention and feedback. It featured a delightful transformation of the ride’s theming, incorporating a festive overlay with a special soundtrack filled with holiday classics. The remix captured the spirit of the season, leaving Guests with unforgettable memories. Others barely noticed the changes.

However, it has been discovered that the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind holiday remix is not listed on the EPCOT highlight section for the coming holiday changes. While the exact reasons for this decision have not been disclosed, we can only speculate that it did not prove as popular as planned. It could also very much just be that Disney forgot to mention it. This scenario would lend weight to the holiday remix being an unlisted normal seasonal operation. Walt Disney World has yet to clarify the matter.

Still a Festive Holiday Experience

Marvel fans and theme park enthusiasts who heard of the cheery changes during the winter season may be disappointed. They might not get to experience holiday fun with their favorite cosmic heroes on the attraction. Nevertheless, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will still be available to enjoy during the holiday season, even if its theming doesn’t change with the moment.

Admittedly, Disney’s speculated decision to forgo the holiday remix this year is confusing and brings to question various factors behind the scenes. The company has a longstanding reputation for delivering magical moments and immersive adventures, and discontinuing a change that fans loved is puzzling.

While disappointment may linger among Disney parkgoers, the absence of the holiday remix doesn’t detract from this popular ride’s fun and unique experience.

As the holiday season approaches, EPCOT visitors will still have plenty of other attractions, entertainment, and festivities to enjoy. The lovely Candlelight Processional is returning to the Park, and other new festive offerings are available across the Resort. Guests can continue to expect stunning decorations and entertainment themed around Christmas wherever they go on the property.

The likely absence of the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind holiday remix is a disappointment. However, you can certainly still find something to be excited about when vacationing at Walt Disney World this holiday.
