A new Disney Theme Park could come to the Land Down Under, particularly to the city of Melbourne, with the mayor expressing her support for the project.
A Disney Resort is one of the most beloved Disney vacation destinations, no matter where you find yourself in the world. The Walt Disney Company is known for having some amazing Disney Parks all over the globe, from the Walt Disney World Resort and the Disneyland Resort—the domestic Disney Parks—to ones like Disneyland Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Tokyo Disney Resort internationally.
However, per the latest reports, fans could see a new Disney Park pop up, with city officials even demarcating land for it.
Fans Want Disney to Build More Parks
Disney fans have been asking for more Disney Parks for a while now. From the overcrowded nature of the parks to the more frequent ride breakdowns that Guests experience due to the number of people who go through the parks on a daily basis, Guests have been insisting Disney build a third Disney Theme Park in the United States.
While there’s been no official announcement of another domestic Disney Resort, there is a possibility that Disney could bring a new theme park to another country.
Australia Could Be the Site of a New Disney Park
As reported by The Daily Mail, Melbourne, Australia, could soon get its own theme park. Lord Mayor Sally Capp shared that the city was regaining its reputation as the tourism capital after being hit hard due to the Covid-19 pandemic. While the idea has been floated in the past, now reports state that an entertainment precinct near Avalon Airport, southwest of Melbourne and near Geelong, has been earmarked and could become the location of a Disney Park if it were ever to come to Australia.
“I know a Disney theme park in our municipality would be a huge hit with residents—myself included—visitors, students, and traders,” Ms. Capp explained.

David Fox, chairman of Avalon Airport, also shared his two cents, “There’s an entertainment precinct that we’ve defined. I wouldn’t say (for a) Disneyland at this moment in time, but anything is possible,” Mr Fox said in March of this year.
With Disney Cruise Line’s expansion to Australia, it’s clear that the Walt Disney Company sees the market as one worth investing in; perhaps this entertainment precinct will soon become the site of Disney’s next big global theme park.
