Who is Jimmy Kimmel?

Jimmy Kimmel (James Christian Kimmel) is an American television host, comedian, writer, and producer from New York. Kimmel gained prominence as the host and executive producer of the late-night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live! The show debuted in 2003 and has since become a popular late-night favorite for many fans. Kimmel has won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Game Show Host for his previous work on Win Ben Stein’s Money. He has also received multiple Primetime Emmy nominations for Jimmy Kimmel Live! itself.

Was Comedian Jimmy Kimmel Fired from “Jimmy Kimmel Live”?

Last month, during his opening monologue, Jimmy Kimmel was discussing the surprising firings of Tucker Carlson from Fox News and Don Lemon from CNN. While doing so, he joked, “This is like if Ronald McDonald and the Burger King got fired on the same day—” but as this was happening, Kimmel was cut short by an ABC News Special Report delivered by Kimmel’s sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez.

During this fake report, Rodriguez shared, “We have some breaking news. After 20 years on the air, ABC TV has decided to part ways with its host, Jimmy Kimmel. This was a mutual decision. We want to say thank you to Jimmy Kimmel and his many, many contributions.”

Rodriguez concluded, “On a personal note, I would like to say to Jimmy, don’t let the door hit you in your ass on the way out.”

However, fans of the show can rest easy that this was simply a scripted comedic bit and was not real. Late-night show Jimmy Kimmel is staying put and not going anywhere for now.
